LOCAL AUTHORITY DISPUTES

DISPUTES WITH THE LOCAL AUTHORITY

Sadly Local Authorities spend much of their time managing their budgets rather than providing the quality of care that is expected of them. Unfortunately this does mean that there will be occasions when they make wrong decisions about what services they should be providing and who should be funding this.

There are clear rules about what contributions a person should make and the point at which a Local Authority should start funding. It is important that you understand your rights when you first have to speak with them but if you believe that the Local Authority are not meeting their legal obligations in either the provision of care or its funding then we are able to assist with challenges and complaints against them. This can be either via their formal complaints procedure or to the Local Authority Ombudsman if all other avenues have been exhausted.
